In the last decade, a large number of video artists have emerged from the Israeli art scene and attatined international recognition. Samantha Adler de Oliveira is a Franco-Isreli visual artist based in Tel-Aviv and currently participating in the TAJ Residency & SKE Projects, an interdisciplinary residency programme in bengaluru. She will showcase a broad spectrum of Israeli video works in an attempt to highlight their diversity as well as recognize their recurring motives. Why is the medium of video so successful in Israel and what do these works tell us about Israeli culture and society.
